Blogtober Day Seven: Top list Tuesday

I've come up a few little ideas for posts to keep some variety on this blog and I hope to do one each week starting today.
-Mood Board Monday       - Top List Tuesday      -Wish List Wednesday   - Tell me about it Thursday                - Feel good Friday              - Surprise Saturday             - Sleepy Sunday

So to start off today on Top List Tuesday I'm going to do my Top Autumn Films which mostly includes Halloween movies to be honest, once October starts my witch side comes out.
Being my Dad's daughter and being named after Spencer Tracy I have grown up with a love for films. The excitement of the surround sound in the cinema, turning all the lights off for home movies and grabbing a big ol' bowl of popcorn brings so many good feelings and I'm sure many film lovers understand what I mean, just the whole atmosphere around settling down to watch a good old classic or the latest thriller can be the highlight of a week and now with the cold Autumn weather creeping in its the perfect time to check out some of the best Autumn movies.

Hocus Pocus (1993) is my all time favorite Halloween movie. I always remember my neighbors, my brother and I gathering each year to watch it with our trick or treat candy piled in front of us. I think its a right of passage for any 90's kid and will always be a good classic. This film was out before I was born but still is a must see every year. Only now have I realized its Sarah Jessica Parker playing Sarah Sanderson, you do learn new things everyday.

I don't think there is a particular time for Harry Potter based movie marathons but what better time to start back at the beginning then on a chilly night in and watch in awe as your inner child relives the magic of Hogwarts and all it has to offer. Harry Potter will always be top of the list when it comes to good movies and with seven of them in the collection you might just finish before Christmas.

Of course another good old classic is The Adams Family (1991). I never quite understood what was going on with this wacky family but any girl with a name like 'Wednesday' was going to catch my eye. I also had a strange liking for Thing which would probably creep out most kids but I thought he was rather cute. Of course any movie with a catchy soundtrack will win over and when the theme song starts you know there's going to be some good Zombie dance moves.

If your feeling like a real tear jerker My Sister's Keeper is the one. Unless you have a heart of stone there is noway around this, so call the girls round, get a jumbo box of kleenex's and some double chocolate chip ice cream and let the tears flow. There's something about a 'tugging-on-the-heart stings' film that makes you leave the film behind knowing your not as unemotional as a orange. I think this beautiful story is a perfect Autumn movie because Autumn is the time to appreciate things be it the changing leaves, the start of winter or that fact that you can eat soup 24/7, this film really makes you appreciate the finer things in life.

Lastly a movie most have for Autumn is the good old classic Casper the friendly ghost. I don't think there's a child in the country who hasn't grown up knowing Casper and of course his uncles Stretch, Fatso and Stinkie. This feel good family friendly movie is just a perfect Sunday afternoon wind-down film, so grab your onesies and tub of m&m's and get watching.

Well that's it for my Top List Tuesday of Top Autumn movies. I actually quite enjoyed reminiscing my childhood movies and surprised myself by some of the things I found out like Christina Ricci played Wednesday in The Adams Family and not only that but Kat in Casper, Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone is THIRTEEN years old and despite my love for Autumn Films I've missed out on some great classics so I know what I'l be doing this Autumn catching up on more great movies like Halloween and The Nightmare Before Christmas and of course all the others on my list.
