Warm Apple Cider on a Cold Chilly Night

After spotting delish looking  apple drinks served in apple cups on Pinterest I jumped straight on that train.. the train of cinnamon loaded warm frothy goodness. Since 3 O'clock today its gone below 4°C and I haven't been able to see my own hand in front of my face with the fog, so it was a perfect little treat to have Warm Apple Cider severed in apple cups. I found the recipe here and had to make a few tweaks because I didn't have all the right spices, but being a lover of cinnamon that was all I needed. Simply cut a bowl shape into an apple using a knife then scoop out the pulp for the drink. Add an orange, some spices, brown sugar and water to cover and wallah, leave it to simmer for 2 hours, I know it's a long time but what I did was leave it on the range in the morning and then could have it for a little treat after dinner. These are the perfect little Autumn/Winter treat and really get you in the mood for Christmas with the smell of spices in the air. Of course the good part is you do get to eat the 'cup' at the end.. recycling at its finest.

Fun Fact: This is what happens when you try to take a picture of fog with a flash.

What do you think? going to try them? I can promise they are like the best Christmas scents and feelings all wrapped (pun intended) in a drink.
